How to improve picture quality (artifacts) of Philips TV?

Published on 2019-09-10

First verify the following:

1) Check the incoming signal.

  • Watching a TV channel press 1, 2, 3, 6, 5, 4 on the remote control of the TV. The Customer Service Menu (CSM) appears on the screen.
  • Go to page 2 with the cursor buttons. Verify item 15.: NOISE FIGURE. If the value stated here is under 50 it means the incoming signal is fine. Go to point 3 then.

2) Splitting the signal will make it considerably weaker. If you use a antenna cable splitter: connect the antenna directly to the TV without the splitter.

3) Check your cables and cable-connections.

  • Make all your cables as short as possible
  • Use only fully screened scart cables
  • Use good antenna-cable
  • Connect the plugs well into their sockets
