I don't normally write reviews however I feel this product is absolutely excellent! Turned the sound off on my Philips TV and the sound bar is so crisp and clear.  I also bought this as I'm sick of listening to my neighbours appalling music coming through my walls. This totally drowns out their music, plugged  it into my iPod and the quality is amazing, crystal clear, the sub does and excellent job and the overall quality of the sound is very sharp. As I'm a heavy metal fan lets see how they like it now! Thanks Philips.  But really, this is excellent and I'm very happy with it. 

This is truly a wonderful piece of kit. Easy to set up and use with fantastic sound reproduction. I may buy another for my upstairs bedroom as well.

Fantastic quality, stylish, simple design (very easy to use). The only downside is the clearance from the digital coaxial, my wire had a long tip, so I had to get a shorter one in order to use the best connections available. In other words there is only about 2cm from my table top to the coaxial socket and many coaxial wires seem to be rigid for the first 2 or 3cm. This just highlights that it appears to be designed primarily for wall-mounting. Further advice to Philips - it wouldn't be difficult to design the exterior of the base unit so it could be placed 'upside down'. This would allow it to be placed to the right hand side of the room, the current design necessitates placing it to the left. Overall the product has quickly become one of my favourite purchases to date.

Greatly improves the sound quality of my flat screen TV, especially music and films. The extra bass is most noticeable. The surround sound is effective on some films but is nowhere near true surround sound. I use the MP3 connection with good results but little stereo effect. My main complaint is the fiddly nature of the optical sound connection. I had to get a 90 degree connector beause the socket is in an awkward place and the connections are so loose that I have had to tape them in place.

This Soundbar was quick and easy to install. It provides excellent bass and a good midrange, producing a much fuller and clearer sound than any in-built flat screen tv speakers can. The separate subwoofer does its job very effectively and can be placed behind a tv stand out of sight. It is loud enough for most applications, although I have had it on maximum on a few occasions albeit with no apparent distortion. If you want something ultra loud you might need more power. If you are short on space this soundbar is a good alternative to a multi speaker surround sound system, whilst accepting the obvious compromise in surround sound quality. It is excellent overall value for the sound produced. The one negative issue is the position of the optical input on the bottom of the Soundbar. This makes the Soundbar unstable when being placed on a surface in front of the tv. Most optical cables end up kinking and breaking because the bent optical cable is taking the weight of he Soundbar as the rubber feet at each end can't both make contact with the surface on which it is resting. I solved this by buying an inexpensive ninety degree optical input adaptor that solved the problem. These should be bundled with the unit given the poor design of the optical input position.

With neighbours to consider and not wanting wires everywhere, this sound bar looked ideal for enhancing TV sound. I have not been disappointed. Obviously it cannot match a full blown 5-1 but it does the next best thing in providing a good rich sound at a sensible volume level. In particular, the subwoofer sounds much more like a quality bass speaker as opposed the more common overdone boom ! Controls are straight forward, and unlike some units, it holds the previous settings when the unit switched off. The only thing that does let this unit down is location of the input sockets, the main leads have to plugged upwards in the small recess thus the cables need to twist 45 degress away from the base. Until the cables settle the spring in them forces the bar to topple forward.
