The front panel of my Philips pasta machine moves

Updated on 08 August 2022

If the front panel of your Philips pasta machine moves when you are making pasta with it, read below what you can do to solve the issue.

The flour/water ratio is incorrect

Using the wrong flour/water ratio can result in dry dough. When the dough is too dry, your Philips pasta maker needs to use a higher kneading force than usual and this can cause the front panel to move while extruding.

If you are using whole-wheat flour, you might be able to solve this by adding another 5 ml of liquid. If this does not solve the problem, please discard the dough and prepare it again following the recommended flour/water ratio.

When the flour/water ratio is correct, the consistency of the dough should be crumbly. Please see the right dough consistency in the picture below.

To prevent this from happening, please make sure to use the recommended flour/water ratio.
