Just what I wanted
This Philips smart TV ticked all the right boxes for me. Super slim with a tiny bezel, it looks fantastic and is easy to accommodate with my audio system in my lounge room. The picture is good and bright with more than enough resolution for the distance my family views the screen. The smart TV features work great, especially Netflix but also YouTube. Ambilight was not something I was particularly interested in but the kids love it to add extra impact to games played on their consoles. Speaking of which, there's a decent number of HDMI inputs as well as optical audio out and component inputs to ensure a high degree of connectivity to any device. There's features I haven't yet tried, such as viewing my mobile phone screen on the TV but I'm confident they will work just as well as all the other features. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this TV.

Clear, crisp picture and good quality sound
The colours are bright and crisp, and the size and sound are perfect for a relatively large bedroom.

The TV died after in sleep mode for some hours
I bought this TV because attracted to a five ticks power consumption rating. Found few major issues after two days use. A) The TV remote will not wake the TV after it went in sleep mode for several hours. B) The TV seemed to demand very high signal quality for it to work like my 10 years old 32" TV that was clear and sharp from the same signal cable. C) Much effort is needed to set the auto off sleep mode, I like the old one that gave short cut button. D) The sound seemed rather soft regardless of setting chs Can Phillips advise if I need to buy and external digital box / antenna to get good quality picture from the free to air channel?
