What do the beeps of my Avent Digital thermometer imply?

Published on 2017-04-07

When measuring your baby's temperature with a Philips Avent Digital thermometer, you'll hear 2 different types of beeps. Find out what they are trying to tell you.

Ten or three beeps

Once your Philips Avent thermometer has finished measuring the temperature it beeps.

These are the same for the digital flexible tip thermometer and for the soother thermometer. They imply:

  • 10 beeps in 10 seconds: the measured temperature indicates no fever (below 37.8°C)
  • 3 sets of short beeps in 10 seconds: possible fever (measured temperature above 37.8°C)
